April-December  2015:

A portrait project on 60"x48" x 2" wood panel, mixed media painting with pearls (well not exactly with real pearls), which began on April 1, 2015 is finally completed. This art piece is one of the most ambitious art projects I have ever indulged in,  using an unfamiliar medium to me that I have explored since energized by my most recent trip to the island of Palawan, Philippines. The island's abundance of south sea pearls had left me inspired creatively and as a result I pursued to create this portrait mimicking its beautiful pearls. After 8 months of dedication, the portrait has been completed using at least 100,000 black and white map tacks and a gallon of medium. It debuted  in a private party on December 11, 2015 at Soma House in San Francisco.
